When I try to open a .pps contained in an email attachment, a pop-up tells me that Windows Media Player is unable to read .pps. How do I correct this?

Windows Media Player is not capable of playing power point show files. It won' t play Flash media either.
.pps = power point show files (as in Microsoft Office Power Point presentations.)

I used to be able to open .pps attachments until I had to do a full system recovery. Should I opem wmv, or .pps in another program other than Windows Media Player?

Actually you can download Microsoft's free powerpoint viewer and play the pps files. Alernatively you can convert the .pps files to video files in a program like Camtasia.
When you download and install the powerpoint viewer, note where it is located so you can find it and set it as the default program to open files with the .pps extension..

I found a free download called FREE OPENER which solved my problem and I am now able to open .pps presentations from email attachments. Once downloaded, I opened default programs and opened associate file type with a program. Highlighted .pps, change program, opened other programs and opened Free Opener.
I did download Microsoft powerpoint viewer, but could not open it under default programs. Thank you for advice.
