How to recover lost partition

I had a RAID 5 array setup on an LSI 9260 SAS card for storing data and a SATA drive for my OS partition. I had a problem with WIndows 7 so I got a new SATA drive and tried to run HP Restore Plus to install Windows 7 on the new SATA drive. Problem is that HP Restore Plus installed Windows 7 on my RAID 5 array, causing me to lose my data. I have tried to recover the lost partition (or at least the data on that partition) using Active@ Partition Recovery and Minitool Partition Recovery, but I cannot seem to find the partition. I am a novice when it comes to RAID, so I am not sure if I am missing something that would allow me to recover my data on my RAID Array. The array is setup on the LSI 9260 RAID card. Does anyone have any experience with recovering data from a lost RAID partition?

Re: How to recover lost partition

You had made a big mistake by removing those external drives. Even though, data recovery is possible if you success to recall the exact boot order, parity delay, header information etc. of the SATA partition. Wrong parameters are the reason to prevent any recovery software to show you the desired partition. However, There is a software named 'Stellar Phoenix Raid Recovery', which can find the list of lost or deleted partitions in case you forget to enter the exact information.

Re: How to recover lost partition

In the future be sure to always unplug the cable from an added hdd before a Recovery is run.On machines that ship with one hdd, Recovery usually chooses the first as a Recovery partition and the 2nd for the OS. Not the smartest software in the world.:smileywink:
