Hp Easy Backup gone mad !!

I'm using MS-Vista Home Premium x64 bit

Recently I got a pop-up window for Hp Easybackup, and to be honest, i dont really backup this machine, so i set it to backup documents only once a month - to minimise back-up time etc..

The problem is, when im gaming, i use this machine for gaming only, the damed pop-up window attacks me for a full 10 minutes everyday.

i press cancel, i press ok, i press everthing it will let me press, and still it keeps poping up, when im gaming, or working on whatever, this damned pop-up keeps wanting to back-up my machine.

I have set it to once a month, but it backs up every day !!!! or trys to at least.

I'm so tired of this thing... ruining my fun time i want to just get rid of it totally

My control panel unistalled doesnt list it as something that can be uninstalled, so i uninstalled everything else from hp and still it keeps poping up !!!!!! {RAGE}

So im here for help.

Tell me Exactly With Step - By- Step instructions how the hell i get my PC back the way it was before this annoying lil piece of rubbish crept into my machine.

I've tryed system restore, to an earlier point that it first poped up.

I've tryed uninstalling or deleting all hp files on my system (That my system will allow me to remove)

I've tryed Google

I've Tryed Bing

I cannot get rid of this annoying piece of software !!!!

Since posting last,

My HP Easy Backup has run 42 times, and is constantly poping up, and down.

42 times !!!!!!

i know im not posting like the most techniclly minded person in the world, but thats because im not, i really have no idea what makes a omputer work, and even less of an idea on how to uninstall / disable hp's easy backup.

or in the other case make it work as intended, and only backup one a month like i asked it too, instead of poping up abd backin up my machine every few minutes.

someone in hp land knows how to help me resolve this issue, but my posts go unanswered.

am i in the wrong forum?? where should i post to get an answer to this?

Here are a couple of things to try:

1. Go into Task Scheduler and look for the task. If youe see it,  double click on it  and then disable or remove it. 
2. Go to the RUN window and enter MSCONFIG.  Look for the task and select disable.
3. You might also look under the HP Support Assistant for scheduled maintenance tasks etc..

I never would of figured that one out.

Took me some poking around, but i finally found what you were speaking of in the task sheduler.

The setting  "run as soon as possible after failed backup" was checked, and thats what triggered the spam pop ups and the root of my original post.

Maybe thats something the developers overlooked, or perphaps it was intended,

anyway, i think i've managed to stop it backing up 400 times a day now, and i must admit im relieved,

So thanks for taking the time to write me back, and thanks for the good info.

I see it ("AutomaticBackup") in my Task Scheduler (Local).  However, there is no option to delete or remove it, double clicking on it does nothing up expand the tree diagram showing that HP Easy Backup have gone off dozens and dozens of times.  While I'm typing this note, the Easy Backup has popped up over 5 times already.

Help!!  I'm at my wit's end.  HP Easy Backup keep on popping up every couple of minute.  I see it in the task scheduler but there is no option to disable or delete it.

I don't see it in Task Scheduler or MSCONFIG and I searched and don't have HP Support Assistant.

How to stop this notice from popping up every 5 seconds?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  It's making me crazy!!!

I'm having the same problem.  Called HP support, apparently out of warranty so the agent refused to help me unless I pay.  I've disable everything on my task scheduler, but still the fregging thing pops up every 5 secs.  While typing this, it's popped up 4 times already.  ARGHHH!!!!!
