What operating system do you have?

Did the memory card reader used to work?

Does it work with other memory cards?

What kind of memory card are you using?

Its a desk top . I use xp pro operating system, the memory card slot works if I go thru the printer, but I used to go thru my computer. I would go to my computer than all my drive would come up than I would film on removable drive and that would take me to the memory card. Maybe I need to reinstall the printer, unless you have a better idea

Do you know which specific model of Desktop it is? I can use this information to see if there are any updated drivers for you to install that may help.

Also, what type of memory card do you have and is it the same one that used to work on your PC?

When did you notice the memory card reader no longer working? Did it occur after installing anything (even a new printer or software)?

I can acccess my memory card from my HP 6500A E710n-z printer but now I can not access my memory card from my computer.

Have you look under device manager to see that the device has not been uninstalled or disabled?

Thanks for your help I figured it out, I also connected a usb cable. I have a wireless printer so I didn't think that I needed it.
