I just purchased an officejet pro 8600 printer. I can print documents but i can't scan a document to my computer.
When i tried to install the driver it gave me a message of
" His computer does not meet the following system requirement(s)"
"The operating system of this computer is not supported. This software can only be installed on computers running the following Windows operating systems: Windows XP with service pack 2 or better (32 bit only).
I have windows XP professional x 64
WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO FIX IT?

Officejet Pro 8600 doesn't support XP 64 bit edition. Only supports XP 32 bit. There are few other options to make ti work for XP 64.
1. Use the USB cable betwen the printer and the XP 64 bit. It will install the Print and Scan driver and you can use Paint and insert picture from camera to scan.
2. If the Printer is on network, then enter the IP address of the printer on the browser (Internet Explorer or Chrome or any). It will launch the printer web page. Click scan and do the scanning.
3. Also from above step, go to scan to network folder option and enable scan directly to you computer.

Is there a way in which HP Officejet Pro 8500 multifunction printer can be enabled to scan douments to my PC? Please help!
I have tried using the "Scanners and Cameras" icon in the control panel but it was a hussle to get just one page. This has to be repeated each time another page has to be scanned! There must be a way to have it installed once. There after scanning should be as simple as faxing or copying multiple pages.
