IE 8 - worth upgrading to?

Is IE 8 worth upgrading to?  I have no issues with IE 7 but I don't know if IE 8 works better or not.

Are the new features worth the toryble of upgrading?

Any issues (for those whyo have upgraded)?

I'd say go for it! No issues here with IE8, it's way better than IE7...

Depends, got any HP printers or scanners?  DON'T DO IT!!  IE 8 in beta caused a lot of headaches and still seeing some older peripherals having issues with IE8 now that it's been released.   

Get Firefox instead

Yes, I do have an HP 7410 All-In-One printer/scanner/fax which is about a year old. I have already had tourbles related to Vista 64 bit, so I'll give IE 8 a more careful look before upgrading.

How old are the peripherals that are troublesome?  And is it only in the beta testing that the problem occuurred? It may have been fixed prior to release.

Unfortunately I can't give you a breakdown on that, you could always e-mail the HP support group for your product and ask them if they are for or against upgrading to IE 8 with your printer installed.  The products that I saw the most issues with are the ones that rely heavily on the Embedded Web Server (EWS) for scan to buttons to work correctly.

Do you know why I cannot download ie8? Does it have something to do with 32bit and 64 bit computers? Thexeez1

I don't know why you should have any trouble downloading IE 8.  Which website are you going to?  Microsoft has versions of IE 8 that will run on Win XP, Vista and Win 7 as well as 32 and 64 bit sytems.  Go to www.microsoft.com and look for a link to Internet Explorer.

I am running IE 8 on a Win 7 64 bit sytem with no problems.
