Internet Explorer Stop Working and Needed Close Often

Hi, It took me several days to figure out the problem. When the google toolbar and its components are uninstalled, the problem is isolated.

But when I tried to reinstall the google toolbar again, it worked fine for more than 6 hours, then the same problem appeared again, then after several hours, the problem came up again 2nd time, and began appeared more and more frequently.

The problem can be isolated in a easier way, when I go to the IE browser Tools -> Manage Add-Ons, highlight the google toolbar and its components, right click the mouse and select disable, close, reboot the system, then the problem will be eliminated.

I just don't know why, I don't have the same problem on my another desktop and laptop machines, they both running Vista with IE8 and IE7.

I think I need to try a little more longer without the google toolbar, make sure it is really the only cause to conflict with IE browser. Is that right?

Further to my post yesterday, I found the same problem came out around noon today. I go uninstalled the google toolbar completely ( I had disabled all concerning google toolbar yesterday), restarted the system, it worked fine for few hours, same problem came out once again, then worked good again till now, about 5~6 hours (may not have continuous operation, but PC keep switching on).

I think there should be still something else in conflict with IE8, in which I would say, the problem is on IE8. Can someone response again? Thanks.

Just to review a bit....

You are still using IE 8. You have removed the Google Toolbar using Add/Remove Programs, followed with a reboot.

Now your PC "keeps switching on". I'm assuming that you are online when this happens. Is the browser open as well, or is IE closed?  I think you need to post a diagnostic log on one of the forums that handles them so an expert can review what is running on your computer.

Thanks Bugbatter for your response again, I tell you what my status now, I keep using IE8 during the pass several days, with the google toolbar uninstalled, the "Stopped Working" problem still exists once in about 2~3 days (with google's installed, it happened many times per hour). This problem exists only when running on IE browser, it never happened without IE loaded or running on other browsers. My system is connected online all times through wireless router, so it is always online when switching on.

I like using google toolbar because of its many easy manage useful buttons, it is not that convenience to give it up when I have get used to it.

Can you recommend some free program on the net that can make the required diagnostic log, and the link to submit this for evaluations?

Should this diagnostic be run, right after the problem exist, or there should be a monitoring mode running all the time, and then pickup the log of the moment when problem exists.

I am sorry, I am really an outdoor guy to do this kind of work, please advise.

Just wanted to add some more information discovered recently.

If go to google search and search for "google toolbar", we can see a "download internet explorer 8 optimized for google toolbar" and also "How to fix incompatibility problem between IE8 and google toolbar" 

After trying the optimized version of IE8 with google toolbar, the crash problem still exist, to fix this problem, it is also to disable all the google toolbar functions. The optimized IE8 did not found any functioning difference with the original version.

In fact the discussion from the link above, Windows 7 also suffers the same problem, and do not have any solution yet.

All have general tech forums if your problem is not malware related.
If they suggest that you post a diagnostic log, do so. They will let you know how to run the scan and where to post the log for review. Each site may require a different type of scan to be run initially, so make sure you read the instructions at the top of the forum that they send you to.

I will go through these Forum sites, see if there are some more information concerning this topic, and ask for help from there.

Up now, all my three PCs have the same problem, (one of them is a one month old new PC HP_a6745f), this problem spreads out like H1N1. I would think that it is not only my problem, it could be a general problem, many people could be also suffering the same. Microsoft shoudn't know about this problem existing. How about your PCs?

Charles, I have not had this problem on any of my PC's. Each system is different, so you may not find your answer by reading others' posts.  What is the answer for one may not be for another. It may be the add-ons that you are using, the way you have configured IE, programs that may be comflicting, or several other things.

I wish you success in finding out how to fix this. I'm sure it must be very frustrating for you.

I believe I still have a long way to go before I can fix all my PCs. So far I knew two of my friends have seen this problem existed on their PCs, not too often because they have not installed Googles toolbar. Same as mind, it wasn't big problem after I have uninstalled Google toolbars, the problem came up just occasionally now. I shall fine tune the configurations of the IE as well.
