Been using Windows Media Center to record television shows. Works great! However, I'm filling up my hard drive so I bought an HP Home Server to provide more disk space to store my TV shows. However, when I go into Media Center settings to change the location where Media Center is to store its files, it lists only the local drives on the PC, not the network drive.
Has anyone successfully have Media Center store recorded TV shows on a network drive ?
(note - I even changed the registry setting where Media Center stores its materials c:\users\public\recorded tv\ to my network drive, rebooted but while its in the registry, when you go to media center it still lists only the local drive)
How do you get Media Center to list/select a network drive?

Have you tried mapping the network drive in the Computer window so that it shows up as an accessible drive in Windows? If the OS doesn't see the media server drive under normal use, applications won't see it either.
If that fails, try googling add-ons for the server and looking in the forums about the server. Even if there isn't one listed, you can often post a request and maybe some one else will think it's a great idea.
Generally though, I just download it all to my home computer and then once I have time, I just send it over to the server. Then again I don't use Media Center since I stream to an Xbox.
