PCI simple Communications Controller XP Driver

Dear all

My computer is an HP Pavilion Elite m9060la, running Windows XP Pro, I have a broken HP Pavilion Slimline PC s3420la also, I installed the modem of the broken PC to

The PCI-Express 1X of the m9060la.

The Device Manager has a yellow question mark:

PCI simple Communications Controller

 “The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)”

I can not find the drivers for this modem for XP, I tried with the softpaq sp31431.exe, but the wizard cannot find the necessary software, did I do something wrong?

Please help me to find the drivers of this modem for XP

Hi:

Here is the Windows XP driver Page for your notebook:

Try the modem driver first:

If it is not that try the card reader driver:

If neither of those drivers fix your problem, please post back with the missing device instance ID's on the device details tab in the device manager.

Post the Letters and numbers starting from PCI_VEN to but not including &SUBSYS.  The VEN and DEV will tell us who the manufacturer is and what the missing device is.

Hi, @ vrerror:

Click on the missing PCI Simple Comms Controller in the device manager. Then click on the details tab. Post the top string of characters you see.

Those should identify the model modem and I can try and find the drivers to send you.

I have an A6109N Desktop i just downgraded from vista to xp. Ive all the necessary drivers except for the pci driver. I get an error saying

"Driver instalation failed: could not fins the MODEM device for this driver"

Could anyone help me find the correct driver? Thanks.
