Mycomputer was running when I left. I came back and it had shutdown by itself. When I went to restart it bypushing the power button, the button immediately turned blue. I hear no fan or computer running and there'snothing on the monitor. If I unplug the monitor the monitor says that the signal was lost. If Iplug it back in the screen is blackout with no cursor or visible activity. I've restarted many times but always the same result. I can't startup fromrecovery disks or the internal recovery drive. Is there a battery or something that could be dead?

Here is a manual to look at:

The first thing I would test is the power supply. You would need a volt/ohm meter or power supply tester. Try to disconnect anything that is not necessary (USB printer, flash card, wireless mouse/keyboard transmitter and see if it comes up. Make sure all the fans are turning. Then you will have to start trying memory one stick at a time, disconnecting the hard drive, DVD etc. The Power supply is the most likely and then the video card if you have on installed in that model.
