I just upgraded my HP m7367c XP-MCE 2005 to Windows 7 Ult 32bit and would like to know how to remove the D: partition that has the old XP recovery on it and regain it's drive space with my new OS. Would like to know specifically what to do. A walk thru would be good. Thanks
I'm in the process now of creating Win7 backup now in the unlikely event of a OS failure/issue.
System Specs:
Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit
Asus P5LP-LE motherboard (BIOS is current 3.19)
Pentium D 930 3.0ghz
2GB RAM PC2-DDR2-5300 667mhz
Maxtor 320GB SATA HDD
Gigabyte HD Radeon 4670 512mb (CCC-9.11)
Sound Blaster Audigy SE (drivers are current)
DVD/CD-RW DL HP-840b
DVD/CD-ROM

Go to Start Control Panel, from the drop down box change it from Category view to Large icons, select Administrative Tools, Computer Management, Disk Management, find the drive that contains the recovery partition and delete it.

Thanks for the response. The recovery partition (D
is of FAT32 and taking approx. 8.50 GB HD space. If I follow your instructions does the Disc manager convert it automatically to NTFS? My new OS Windows 7 is C: and the old XP recovery is D:
Thanks

Thanks I've deleted it. But what of these three choices do I choose to allocate the empty space back to my current new system on C:
The choices are as follows:
1. Assign drive letter. (Of which there is no choice for C:
2. Mount in the following empty NTFS folder
3. Do not assign a drive letter or drive path.
Thanks

Is this something I can do with MaxBlast 5?
Does the space need to be formatted? NTFS right?
