Hi all,
After uninstalling the HP Wild Tangent games console from my new desktop, I have been left with parts of Wild Tangent 1.2.4.1 embedded in the Windows 7 games explorer, & with no obvious way of removal.
I have googled this & there are plenty of answers on XP & Vista systems with similar problems, & fixes that mean messing with the registry.
If anyone one knows of simple fix on Windows 7, then I would be most grateful.
Many thanks.
Ian.

Hi again,
I run the Program & Features uninstaller first, & the HP Games uninstaller listed all of the games individually, so I ticked the whole lot, & it seemed to work okay, as all the games were removed, but the 5 Wild Tangent providers were still listed?
I would not be suprised if it is intentional, as these 5 Wild Tangent provider listings are able to auto check for the latest games & news! I guess It is basically adware.
Many thanks.
Ian.

Took a little digging but I think I've got this figured out. I'll share what I've learned so far. This seems to remove all remnants of the HP/WildTangent preinstall on Windows 7.
(Side note: I know you've gotten this first part all sussed out, but I included it so that all of the removal steps are in one post for anyone else that might be searching for this solution.)
Uninstall the HP Games program group from the Windows Start menu.
- Go to your START menu. On the right side click Control Panel, then in the window that opens click Programs: uninstall a program.
- Scroll down the list of programs and select HP Games and follow the instructions to uninstall the games (you have to manually "tick" every checkbox on the list. Pain in the rear, yes. Hey, I never said this was gonna be easy!)
- Click the Uninstall button and wait for the uninstall procedure to complete. You're halfway done!
WildTangent: PART DEUX
So, that should remove your "HP Games" folder from your Start menu. Next, if you look on the right side of the Start menu and click Games this will open a window showing you several other WildTangent games at the top. WildTangent/HP took it upon themselves to bury the location of this particular uninstall file. For the life of me, I don't know why, but here's what you need to do to remove the "other half" of the WildTangent gaming software from your Windows 7 machine:
- Go to your START menu.
- From the right side of the Start menu, click on Computer to open a new window displaying a split window with some icons on the left.
- Select My Computer from the list of icons, if it isn't already selected.
- You should see your hard drive listed (something like "Local Disc (C:" is what you're most likely to see. Click the C: drive icon to view the contents.
- Scroll down and double click Program Files (x86) folder to open it.
(It is very important that you are in the (x86) folder and not the normal Program Files folder!) - Double click the HP Games folder and you should see a list of files.
- Scroll down until you see the file named Uninstall and double click it! It should automatically delete all files in this folder (including itself!)
- Go back to the Start --> Games menu and the WildTangent games should be gone!
Congratulations! You did it! No more WildTangent software!

I figured it out!
1.) Right click on the "Taskbar" a pop-up menu will appear
2.) Click "Properties" and a window will open
3.) Choose the "Start Menu" section
4.) Click "Customize"
5.) Scroll down to "Games"
6.) Check off "Display as a menu"
7.) Click "OK"
8.) Click "Apply" and then "OK"
9.) Click on the "Start Menu"
10.) Click "Games"
11.) Drag the bad game files to the desktop and repeat this process untill all of the bad files are on the desktop
12.) Select all of the bad files on the desktop and drag to the "Recycle Bin"
12.) Empty the "Recycle Bin"
All of the dead files should now be gone. Whew!

Doesn't work for me because if I grad them to desktop it creates a shortcut, if I drag it to any other folder it just creates a "link" which has no target or location. This is such a pain...
