Trouble installing XP on Pavillion Media Center m8000y

Hello everyone,

   First off, i have an HP Pavillion Media Center m8000y Desktop PC running Vista. I have no complaints with the machine as it runs Vista decently well. After a long struggle trying to get my copy of adobe premiere elements to work correctly on vista, i have come to the conclusion that it's not going to. I have tested it on a different XP machine and all works just fine. My goal is to install XP to a second hard drive attached to my m8000y desktop. I have the hard drive hooked up as the only current hard drive on the desktop. After XP runs and it loads all the drivers and config settings, i get a blue screen with white lettering (at the bottom of the blue screen it has an error saying "pci - sys"....then a bunch of numbers and letters). I had a feeling it was becasue my machine is a SATA connection and as of now, XP does not recognize native SATA drives. I went into BIOS and changed the SATA controller, to IDE thinking this would do the trick. However, it did not work. I went back into BIOS and tried every variation of disabling the SATA controllers i could. I tried disabling them completely, turning it to AHCI etc. Everytime i make a chnage and try to install XP i get the same error message.

Has anyone out there installed XP on a similar machine? I REALLY need to get XP on this machine and im hoping some one can help me out. If anyone has any info, please respond back. Thanks for your time!

Sorry for the long delay. I did the slip stream process and it worked! Now i just have the issue of no drivers for my machine. HP does not have XP drivers for this machine...does anyone have xp drivers for a Pavillion Media Center m8000y???? Please help me out..thanks!
