Click Start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Event Viewer and check for events mentioning the Backup Service or Volume Shadow Service for cluesas to what the problem is. You could right click the two services in the Services list you checked and see if any dependencies are turned off. That would be my only other guess. I'm no technical expert, just an ordinary user like you, but if you find nothing in the event log, I'd recommend going over to the Win 7 forums (assuming you have Win7) for some help if you get no answers on this forum. I know the topic has come up there more than once (do search before posting) but seems like the solutions were often user configuration specific. The folks there are REAL good at getting to the bottom of things, however. Hope they can offer some assistance to you. http://www.sevenforums.com/
