What Brand of Hard Drive to Replace Old One

What brand of internal hard drive to replace old failing one on compaq presario     AY03011-ABL CQ5320F 64 bit. Would like to get same one or better without too much cost.

Which hard disc do i replace compaq c which has 390 gb free of 455 gb or factory image D which has 1.5 free of 10.1 GB?

Hi,

 

You're PC only has One Hard Drive - the C and D drives you see listed are just partitions on One physical Hard Drive.

 

The drive on the link below is an example of one that would be a suitable replacement.

 

500Gb SataII Hard Drive.

 

A guide on replacing the Hard Drive ( including a video overview ) can be viewed Here.

 

Once the drive is installed, you will need to use your Recovery Discs to reinstall the Operating System on the new Hard Drive - see the document on the link below regarding this.  This will also re-create the D partition on your new drive.

 

Reinstalling Windows.

 

If you don't have these discs, you can order a replacement set of Recovery Discs using the link below.
