Will not start windows

HP Pavilion p6110y  Windows 7 desktop goes to HP screen, then to blank screen with the blinking curser but will not start windows. Tried hitting F8, no response. Suggestions?

Hi

You have a couple of options as I see it please try these steps given below.

Try using F10 key go to diagnostic and run the Hard drive & Memory test check if any fails then you need to replace the part OR both the test passes.

2) Use the F11 key and check if this load then you could try doing a system restore and check if this works if does not work you could try doing a recovery on the unit before doing this kindly back up your data.

3) Or you need to place a order for recovery disc you can call technical support or find the web link given below to place the order by yourself.

The F10 showe everything passed, I cannot get the F11 button to do anything - it goes to the blank screen with blinking curser. I can't back up anything since I can't get into the compter. Any other suggestions?

Do you important data on the unit i believe that the Operating system has failed you will need to reinstall OS in order to get the unit running again Or if you have created a repair disc you can give it a try.

I have 3 recovery discs that I created and the Windows 7 upgrade disc. Anyway to not loose what is on the computer?

Hi

Only one option i see is to remove the Hard drive and connect it to a different working unit and you need to use a USB to Sata adapter and take a back up off the drive. If you are not sure then you might have to take it to local tech and get the drive back up.

If you dont have important data then you could use the disc and reinstall the Operating system back on the unit.
