Win7 Speakers/M ic not working!

I have internal speakers but my mic is apart. I'm sure they're connected correctly but it never detects them.
The speaker icon on the says "No Audio Output Device is installed". And when I check the sound folder on the control panel, it doesn't show any devices.
I tried downloading codecs from realtek and updated but nothing works. Please help!

I'm still searching and I think it's that I don't have a 'Multimedia Audio Controller'. I'm looking for one but I can find any for Windows 7.
