Hi,
I recently purchased five Pavilion P7-1036 desktops that came pre installed with Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit. The computers were purchased for a business that is upgrading their main software package used to run the business daily. Their old software will not run under Windows 7. So I need to downgrade to Windows XP for about six months. I have been attempting to install a licensed version of Windows XP Pro on one of the machines and am having absolutely no luck. I've been at it for about six hours. Has anyone been able to install XP on one of these computers? I can run the new software under XP for the time being, but would revert back to Windows 7 once the new software package is ready.
Thanks!

I boot to the XP cd and hit any key then it starts to load all of the basic files. When it is finished copying file, it say rebooting and I get a BSOD blue screen.... Its a generic error code that
1. Press any key to boot from CD....
2. All of the basic setup files seem to load from the CD
3. When it is done loading the files, it says "Setup is starting Windows"
4. Instead of starting the XP instaLl GUI, I get a BSOD with error code "Stop: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)
I've tried several differnt XP discs and even burned my own from an ISO file I downloaded. I get the same error message continually. I even tried changing the storage option in the bios from ACHI to IDE to no evail. Is there another driver I can hit F6 to add? I don't think it is seeing any boot drives once it loads the setup files into memory... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I am an idiot.... I changed the setting from ACHI to IDE, but I never hit F10 to accept the change... I wasted hours because I can't read... LOL. Thanks for your help. Installing XP Professional now.
On an off note, the motherboard is a Pegatron ipisb-cu...
