Re: Windows could not configure to run on this computer's hardware.

I think you formatted the flash stick as fat 32 and that may interfere with an ntfs install of vista.

Yea It was FAT 32, how would I format it as different type?

Edit:Nevermind I managed to change it to NTFS, will try with that now.

Re: Windows could not configure to run on this computer's hardware.

I don't think you can just change it without putting all the programs back on as ntfs.  Changing it should require a reformat and then there will be trouble making it bootable.  I think you will have better luck with the DVDs.

I used HP Format Tool to change it to NTFS, and now I'm putting the programs back on.

Then using Microsoft .iso to USB/DVD tool to make it bootable.

Finally got it to work, thank you guys so much! Had to change BIOS setting from RAID to AHCI, and it finally went through!

But now I have a D: drive, how do I get rid of that? It's the 97.7GB one.

Re: Windows could not configure to run on this computer's hardware.

You're very welcome.

Congratulations! I knw you could do it.

I had the same problem when my recovery disks didn't work and they had created the recovery partition (which won't work anyway).

I'm not an expert but, I think what I did was to go into the administrative tools>disk management, deleted the partition, and then extended my C:\ partition to absorb the space.

Then I did a disk defrag.
