Windows vista won't load & blue screen w/no command options available

My hp pavillian windows screen had frozen so I went to click on the restart button and hit the sleep button by mistake.  When it didn't restart, I shut it down by using the button on the hard drive and then started it back up again.

I have a blue screen with the commands on the bottom.  My keyboard and mouse are on but do not work .  I can not click on the system restore or any of the other F commands.

I had vista installed on my pavillian hp when I purchased it with no disks 2 1/2 yrs ago and I keep it updated always.  I was having no problems with it at all before this.

Help!  I'm using my old windows xp on another computer that is not an HP for now to get online for help.

Thanks in advance :smileyhappy:

Were there any error code or error message on the blue screen?

By "keyboad and mouse are on" do you mean they are wireless? Did you check the receiver to see if it's on? It may need re-establish the connect too.

Re: Were there any error code or error message on the blue screen?

There were no error codes  The command prompts were on the bottom.  The keyboard is a plug in and the mouse is a plug in.  The were on (lights were on), but did not work on the screen at all.  I tried to hit the commands, escape, etc, and nothing.  It is like it froze at that on point where it firsts comes on.  I hope that helps.  Thanks :smileyhappy:
