XP SP3 Cannot create a Complete Memory Dump
11/06 purchase) Pavillion a1630n desktop / XP SP3 --- Startup & Recovery Settings have Complete Mem Dump selected, overwrite last file is chk'd, increased to 4000 MB Virtual Mem for 3 G RAM --
There is a probable conflict with ESET ESS V5 Security (V4 OK) and a 3rd party App/Driver that Locks up entire system when a USB Drive is Hooked-up Only AFTER System Turn-on / inserted BEFORE Turn-On is OK -- (mine is HP 320 GB Pocket Media Drive AU186AA#ABA via 3/10 purchase). ESET needs a Comlplete Mem Dump to find the culprit. The LATEST UPDATES for anything in this computer is 8/08 and I kept up well with them from 11/06.
Target is %systemroot%\MEMORY.dmp (nets C:\Windows) and AFTER I cause the System Lock-up by removing the backup drive and Re-inserting it the Dump never appears (after Hard Shut-down and Re-Start) as MEMORY.dmp or in Minidump as one Forum suggested. Searched all of C: each time.
Any ideas HOW to generate a COMPLETE MEMORY DUMP? Many Thanks!

I'm getting help elsewhere and don't see how to Mark this Thread as "Solved" or "Forget about this one". Doesn't appear to be the right topic here. Thanks anyway ...................
