Your computer is not digital cable ready!!!! Driving me nuts!

I am getting this error message on my brand new HP 9400t.  I did buy it with the ATI digital cable tuner AND have had comcast come out to give me the cable card which was paired.

Re: Your computer is not digital cable ready!!!! Driving me nuts!

Hi cps68500,

Digital cable in the Media Center can be tricky thanks to the copyright protection "features" in the industry :smileyhappy:

When you ordered your PC, did you order this OS option: Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium with Digital Cable support + External ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner with Vista Service Pack 1

You have to have that version of Media Center for the ATI card to work. If you ordered this, but it's not what showed up on your PC, you will probably have to call support to have your PC imaged with the correct OS option.
But before you do that, you might try the steps in this HP Support document for your tuner.
For reference, here is a copy of your product specifications and configurable options.
Let us know how it goes.

I did order the PC with the correct OS.  In fact once you select the ATI product it won't let you check out until you fix the OS choice.

What upsets me though, is when i run the util from doug knox to check the bios settings...  it fails.  Is there a bios update specific for the MCE?
