You probably have an HP All-in-One or printer installed. There are other posting in the printer/Aio forun about this, for example:

Re: a6655f pavilion shut down error message?

Hi there hopefully this works

Ok, here is another fix that I believe will help those of you that are still having this hpqgpc01.exe problem. As I read this thread, most of you, if not all, have 64 bit systems. But you are probably running a 32 bit file system. So lets try this. Load your printer disc in your CD drive, then go to : START, CONTROL PANEL, PRINTER. Then right click on printer and go to properties. Go to SHARING. Click on CHANGE SHARING OPTIONS. Click CONTINUE. Go down to DRIVERS and click on ADDITIONAL DRIVERS.  X64 is the 64 bit driver, but remember that you probably have the files loaded in your X86 file which is 32 bit . Leave the X64 file alone, but click the X86 file. Then close out the program. When you go back, the file should show both the X64 & X86 file as Type 3 User Mode INSTALLED-YES. When you power down the computer you will still see the hpqgpc01.exe file pop up because you will need to restart the computer for the change to take effect. But after that, you shouldn't see the error sign on your next shut down. Hope that helps. Let me know if it works for you.

Re: a6655f pavilion shut down error message?

Hello,

My name is James and I'm new to the forum.  I've been having the same shutdown error message.  I found your solution through Google and tried it.  It worked when I first changed the sharing properties, after that, the message appeared again.  I checked the sharing properties, again, and they were in place as you stated.  I have a HP Pavillion a6475f, running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.  I just purchased a HP F4440 AIO.  It functions fine except for this darn message when shutting the machine down.  Is there something else I could try or is this annoyance something I'm gonna have to live with.  Frankly, it makes you think there's something "wrong" with your system!!  HELP!!  Thanks

Re: a6655f pavilion shut down error message?

I have a "hpqgpc" shutdown error message ox7582be16 with my one week old HP Pavilion notebook and I also have an HP wireless AIO.   Please let me know if anyone comes up with a solution easy for non-techies--like me.  Thanks!!!

Hi,

Saw your post and thought this may help,

Mar 28, 2008 18:27:57 GMT    Unassigned

I got this info from an HP support engineer:

Go to Start > Run > services.msc

Find "HP CUE DeviceDiscovery Service", change startup type to Disabled and then Stop the service.

Found this solution in the IT forums section of this site.  I tried it, because I was having the same problem.  Credit should go to J. Rhoades for this solution.  It has worked for me thus far.  Be advised though, AIO "button" functions will be compromised, but, as you know you can perform all functions from the Solution Center.  This solution will stop the "Device monitor" from loading (which is the culprit). Post back and let us know how the solution worked for you.

It appears that it worked for me. I won't be using my AIO for a while so I don't know what this will affect, but at least it got rid of the anoying message at turning off the laptop.

Thanks a lot!
