I have the same issues. I have spent hours with Microsoft support and while they are very nice, they could not help this situation. Please post if you every find a solution! BTW, a6750f.

Do these accounts have passwords? If not can you set a password?
Is the screensaver set to show the login window upon resume from sleep?

Has anyone had success with enabling Aero Peek after sleep mode? Seems no one is posting anything new. I have three new HP computers. Two of them have Intel processors and they have no problem with the Aero Peek but the AMD quad core with 8gb memory and 1tb drive does. I'm wondering if it's an AMD problem or an MSI motherboard problem. I installed a new NVidia video card and that didn't help. Tried everything I can think of and more.

Just started reading the forums...thank goodness it wasn't just me. I have a m9715f with AMD Phenom, works fine until it sleeps...was checking some other forums out and there was some comments about problems with AMD processors and that we should do a bios update. I haven't seen any on the HP site.

I'm pretty tired of this problem. No one seems to know or care. Also, when I play video in windows media player after the computer has woken up it is slow and jumpy....can't just be a few of us. I have an HP laptop with win7 and it works fine.

I have been reading a lot about this issue...it seems most frequent with AMD systems and many sites recommend a bios update. I have been reluctant to do this in the hope that HP would release one. Not only does Aero Peek stop working, video is compromised in that it stops and starts. All is fixed with a reboot but I'm tired of doing that....my thinking is that if I can't fix it in 3 more years I'll just replace it.

There are two types of sleep: normal and hibernation. Normally your PC will first go in normal sleep (standby) which still consumes some power. After a time, as indicated by your power plan, your PC will go into hibernation. Going into hibernation involves writing the contents of memory to a disk file and then the PC shuts its self off. Pushing the power on button will restart your PC and you should see a message Windows Resuming. This is faster than a cold boot up.
Bios and video card updates usually resolve sleep mode issues but not always. I have noticed that some of the bios updates are VISTA only meaning if you are on Windows 7 the bios update will not install. There are other methods to get a VISTA bios update to install on Windows 7.
You can go into your Power Plan advanced setting and change hibernation to NEVER and then monitor to see if that is the issue. Or from the RUN window (be that you are an admin) you can enter the following:
cmd
powercfg.exe -h off -----------------------------> this will turn off hibernation
exit
To turn hibernation back on from the RUN window enter:
cmd
powercfg.exe h on -----------------------------> this will turn hibernation back on
exit
This article may also help you with AERO mode issues.
