Hi:
The first issue you have is normal,
Your computer's set to go into sleep mode after so many minutes of being idle.
Plus the thing is set to have you enter your password when it comes out of sleep state.
I recommend you let the computer sleep to save electricity but you can change the duration before it goes to sleep. The password thing is an annoyance and I will give you the instructions to not have to log in each time and you can decide to change that or not.
OK...
Go to the Windows Start Orb on the bottom left of your PC>Control Panel>System & Security>Power Options.
Now you see that link where it says Require a Password When the Computer Wakes? Click on that.
Now you see the two grayed out options. Above that is the blue notification to Change Settings that are Currently available.
Click on that, and now you can select the button to not require a password when the computer wakes. Save the setting.
To change the time before the computer goes to sleep, Go back to the main Power Options menu and you see under where the Require the Password thing is, you see another setting to Change When the Computer sleeps. Click on that and you can increase the time for the PC to be on, or you can change it to never sleep.
I have mine set for 30 minutes. You can make it more.
As far as the other issue you have, I would need a whole lot more info regarding that. Almost crashed ain't enough info.
Paul
