After having problems with my pavilion a6400f and calling HP tech, I ended up having to do a complete recovery to my computer.
Everything went smoothly and then since it was late and the computer was installing updates I went to bed. The next day I started the computer and it seemed fine until right before the log in screen on my desktop. It said it was configuring updates 1-3 and then froze up and then restarted itself and came right back to configuring updates 1-3 again and would shut down again. After it did this several times, I gave up. Can anyone tell me what I should do next? since it keeps shutting down and restarting at the very same way and time over and over again, this cant be normal!!?? HELP!!!! NOW WHAT??

First, I would try the complete recovery again. Make sure everything works as it should before doing anything else. Is this Vista OS? If yes, what SP is installed when the recovery is done?

Could be a slight possibility that the updates are causing this. I am not sure but it only has a slight possibility to me.
When your computer fully starts up, try disabling the automatic updates and see what happens. If it makes any difference. ![]()
