g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

Hello - I recieved the above modeled computer with windows 8 pre-installed. i installed a clean install (wiped the drives) and installed the Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit OS. When I did so, none of the internet connections would even work. I have since found (somehow) one driver that was compatible, which addressed the missing wifi adapter, but I still need the following:

Ethernet Controller: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_05

PCI Device: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_01

UNKNOWN DEVICE: ACPI\HPQ004

I can't seem to find these anywhere, PLEASE help.

Re: g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

Hi:

Actually, you are probably missing a lot more than those drivers...

You need to first install the AMD chipset driver and reboot.  First download listed.

http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/windows/Pages/raid_windows.aspx#2

Then all of the W7 x64 drivers from this related model will work on yours.

The specific drivers for the hardware ID's you posted are these:

Ethernet Controller: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...

PCI Device: PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_5229

http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=32...

UNKNOWN DEVICE: ACPI\HPQ004

Re: g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

[ Edited ]

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete HP model name and/or product number of the computer in question.

Assuming you have a HP Pavilion g7-2233cl Notebook Computer, the specs, other than the CPU, RAM, and screen size, appear to be the same as my sister-in-law's HP Pavilion g6-2210us Notebook Computer. The Windows 8 64-bit drivers listed for both computers are exactly the same. I installed Windows 7 64-bit on her computer about a month ago and used the following multi-sourced drivers;

AMD Chipset Driver (USB 3.0, SM Bus, etc.)

AMD Catalyst Display Driver

Realtek FE Family LAN Driver <select download location for 5th item down list>

Realtek PCIe RTS5229 Card Reader Driver <select download location for 2nd item down list>

HP sp54972 Atheros 5xxx/9xxx WLAN Driver

HP sp59620 IDT HD Audio Driver

HP sp58539 Synaptics PS2 Touchpad Driver

HP sp60051 CoolSense

and from Windows Update "HP Mobile Data Protection Sensor"

It is possible that the WLAN chipset on your machine is different and may require other drivers.

I also update updated the Synaptics driver to v16.2.21 from the Synaptics website. Some of the above drivers may require the HP Software Framework sp59202. Additionally, the WebCam requires the "VideoCM" package from the "SWsetup" folder in the original Windows 8 install and CyberLink YouCam sp59986.

When finished, there were no unknown device on her system.

Please send KUDOs

Re: g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

It is the Pavilion and your suggestions helped tremendously, thank you!! I'm still trying to find the drivers/software/hardware (not sure what's missing) for the YouCam software. I don't have a recovery disk, it's a refurb computer, and don't have a Windows 8 install disk - any suggestions about how to locate all the missing pieces to make it functional? Thank you again!

Re: g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

Ok, somehow I'm missing three additional drivers - I have no idea how you were able to find those hidden in that page, but if you wouldn't mind directing me to these three I would be very grateful!

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_780B&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_14

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_03

PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7812&SUBSYS_184B103C&REV_03

Re: g7 2233 missing drivers after windows 7 ultimate 64-bit clean install

Just wanted to say thanks to Paul as I too couldn't stand Win8 on my G7-2233cl and was able to get Win7x64 installed with the drivers he posted.  With Win7, a 360Gb SSD and no HP bloatware (sorry HP) this little baby screams now. I too got it refurb'd and as 66% of all computers returned since Win8 came out had no hardware issues just people didn't like Win8, I'm firguring mine is pretty much a new unit.
