hang on factory image recovery on pavilion a6248x

hp pavilion a6248x product gn707aa#aba

windows vista 32 bit

no recovery discs - system allows me to go f11 to do a factory image recovery but has been running over an hour with 0% progress

make sure you disconnect everything you've added... thumb drives, any discs, especially 2nd hard drives. and then try again.

Thanks, I only have the mouse and keyboard monitor and cpu and still no progress any other ideas? The disk light is flashing intermittenly but I hear no noise on the disk drive

well, you shouldn't hear much noise from the hard drive. I would try a few more attempts... here is an HP support document on troubleshooting issue with recovery:
