Server will not boot,looking at status leds on system board show 2,3 and 8 green. Fans running . How do I find reference to what relates to what is lit? Looking through Proliant Servers Troubleshooting guide and Proliant DL380 Gen 4 Main. and Service guide. No luck. Can anyone help??

While researching the answer I ran across a PDF of the main. and service guide that you previous mentioned.
HP ProLiant DL380 Generation 4 Server Maintenance and Service Guide
Looks like (to me) around page 82 and 83 are when they start talking about the system LED's assuming the numbers match up to what the numbers are on the PDF.
2 Overtemperature Amber = Cautionary or critical temperature
level detected
Off = Temperature OK
3 Riser interlock Amber = PCI riser cage not seated
Off = PCI riser cage is seated
8 DIMM 3B failure Amber = Memory failed*
Off = Normal

As you can see it says to refer to the HP Integrated Lights-Out User Guide on your CD. If you don't have a CD, below is a link to one of the PDF files for the Lights-Out User Guide I was able to find.

Looks like around page 162 it talks about the lights.
