Re: ie loading so SSSLLLOOOWWW!!! Any idea to help?

Received a reply from Hanspuppa (Thanks) and tried the suggestions. However none worked. It would not let me go to reinstall ie 9 because a newever version already installed. Also it did not find ie in the search box, so could not get to the advanced tab.

Hello holmgaard5543, Sorry the information did not help. You should be able to uninstall IE9 from within the Control Panel, Programs and features.

I have uninstalled IE9 several times and it reverts back to IE8 when IE9 is uninstalled.

I can then go back and reinstall IE9. I'm not sure of what you mean as the search box.

You might try setting the IE9 to the default settings. I have needed to do this a few times.

Hello holgaard5543, Here are the uninstall instructions from Microsoft on how to uninstall Internet Explorer 9.

To uninstall Internet Explorer

The following instructions apply to both Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

  1. Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.
  2. Under Uninstall an update, scroll down to the Microsoft Windows section.

  3. Right-click Windows Internet Explorer 9, click Uninstall, and then, when prompted, click Yes.

  4. Click one of the following: Restart now (to finish the process of uninstalling Internet Explorer 9, and restore the previous version of Internet Explorer). or Restart later (to wait until you shut down or restart your computer.

  • As I mentioned earlier, I have uninstalled IE9 several times using this method. The issue you may be experiencing is that you would have needed to have IE8 installed, since uninstallling IE9 reverts back to the previous browser. You might try installing Firefox, and then try uninstalling IE9.

Just some thoughts

Re: ie loading so SSSLLLOOOWWW!!! Any idea to help?

I feel like a total idiot, but following your instructions,

1 Programs and features does NOT give me ie but a list of installed programs and (ie) is not not part of them. However,  there is a section "Microsoft Windows" with one and three firefox. with right click there is no uninstall selection, so I used the delete for all four. Was asked if I was sure I wanted to move to recykle bin. I said yes and restarted the computer.  ie icon still on desktop and started all over again. Still in the soup

Hello holmgaard5543, You may not see IE9 in the list of installed programs.

Look here: Click the Start button Picture of the Start button, type Programs and Features in the search box, and then click View installed updates in the left pane.

Here  is another link that may be of some help to resolve the slow response of IE9.

Hope this works.
