lose the internet connection

When I log off sometimes I lose the internet connection. I have to run the diagnosis to reconnect the connection. What do I need to do? I am runningVistaon a Compaq Presario SR5707C.

Go into control panel, network and sharing, click change adaptor, right click on your adaptor, click on properties, click on configure, click on power management, uncheck allow this computer to turn off to save power.
