m8120n 64-bit WLAN driver

I've had this machine for a couple years and decided to revamp it a little. After recently partitioning a section of my hard drive and setting up a dual boot system for Vista 32-bit home premium [pre-installed when I bought the machine] and Windows Server 2008 Enterprise 64-bit, I ran into a problem. I can't find the WLAN driver for the 64 bit OS anywhere. The drivers from the m8120n support and drivers page for Vista 64 bit aren't working. I keep getting the following error:

Your system does not meet the minimum requirements for this update. Update has been cancelled (9998).

I've got just about everything working except for this 802.11b/g.

Any suggestions?

Re: m8120n 64-bit WLAN driver

Have you tried a Windows Update maybe that will find the driver and install it?

I need to look up this WLAN.

[ Edited ]

I wish that I could say Windows Update solved the problem for me, but unfortunately that is not the case. All current updates are installed. I've read other threads about running 64 bit operating systems with the m8120n, but those who did weren't concerned that the WLAN driver didn't seem readily available. I'd prefer not to have to buy a new wireless adapter but I'm running out of ideas since it will be vital to the server.

On the 32 bit Vista OS the driver is Ralink. The 64 bit drivers that I download from Ralink's site give me the same errors as the HP site's drivers do. The machine specs say that the WLAN is Lite-On USB Wireless but that doesn't aid me in my search since I can't find Lite-On drivers anywhere.

Re: m8120n 64-bit WLAN driver

With the error message you are getting and the fact you tried the manufactors website drivers, it appears none support the 2008 server. I could find none on the Ralink site that support server 2008. So when you are installing it detects the 2008 and it says Woa that is not my O/S, stops the installation. Maybe make sure your server 2008 has the latest updates and service pack.

Re: m8120n 64-bit WLAN driver

Interesting that for the rest of my hardware the Vista 64 drivers worked on Server 2008. I've already installed all the updates on Server 2008 as I stated in my previous post. I'll report back here if I make any other progress. To clarify, the hardware isn't Ralink according to the HP specs on the m8120n. The driver was Ralink however. I'm not familiar with the Lite-On mentioned on the HP drivers page.
