my desk top wont boot up , the system will not get past loading the OS and freezes, its a desk top m8000n running vista

Try booting to safe mode by tapping F8 after pressing the power button and then restoring the OS back to a date before the problem began.

 

Please identify your PC with its p/n. You should be able to find that on a sticker on the side or at the rear of your PC.

Dean Ive tried this but the system freezes even in safe mode .

The desk top is a HP m8000n btw running Vista . Thanks

If it's still doing it in safe mode, try a System Restore first to revert the settings to a particular date when it was running fine.

 

Worst case, you can do a System recover on this. Good luck.
