Re: printer "offline" won't print

Have you tried the recommended HP "Reset" procedure?

  • 1

  • Turn on the printer by pressing the "Power" button until it illuminates. The power button is located on the left front panel of the printer.

  • 2

Pull out the power cord from the back of the printer, but do not unplug the USB cable. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet as well.

  • 3

Leave the power cord unplugged from the printer and electrical outlet for 15 seconds.

  • 4

Insert the power cord securely into the electrical outlet. Plug the power cord into the back of the printer, making sure the connection is secure.

  • 5

Press the "Power" button to turn the printer back on, if it does not turn back on itself.

As you did not state the OS of your computer, lets try these.

XP: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/print_set_default_pri...

Vista: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Change-your-default-printer

Win7:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Change-your-default-printer
