windows server 2003 64 bit on HP compaq 8200 elite ,

I have hp compaq 8200 elite convertible mini tower , I have a windows 7 64 bit installed , but i want to change it to windows server 2003 64 bit . The problem i face when i start the setup i get an error blue dumb screen , i think i should change some thing in the mother board setting , What should i do to make it work ? Thanks

Hi:

Go into the BIOS and under the storage options menu, change the SATA emulation mode from ACHI to IDE.

Save the setting there, and again when you exit the BIOS.

Then the OS should install.

You will want to load the SATA ACHI driver after you install the OS and change the BIOS setting back to ACHI for best drive performance.

You can post back once you install the OS, and I will give you the instructions for doing that.

how about other drivers for Windows Server 2003 32 bit install in 8200 elite?

I would try the XP Pro drivers.

Most of them should work.
