Re: ALC888S realtek driver + windows7

Hi,

Try the fixit from Microsoft on the link below.

http://support.microsoft.com/mats/?DiagID=100010&EulaAccept=Yes

If this doesn't help, try the procedure below.

From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and click on Device Manager.  Click to open the Sound Video and Game Controllers tree, then right click on the Realtek HD Codec and select uninstall.  Do not delete drivers if asked.

Restart your PC and let Windows re-install the device.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Re: ALC888S realtek driver + windows7

Hi,

In windows Device Manager, right click on your Realtek audio device and select Properties.  If the option is available, click the option to 'Roll back Driver'.  When complete, restart the PC and see if this has helped.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes,

DP-K

Hi Marco,

Download and install this driver for your sound card.

Let me know how you get on with this.

Re: ALC888S realtek driver + windows7

Hi Marco,

From the Start Menu, open the Control Panel and then open the Sound option.  Left click once on the Default device to highlight it and then click on Properties.  Click on the Enhancements tab and put a tick in the box next to 'Disable all Enhancements' then click Apply to make the change.  Restart the PC to see if this has helped with the distortion issue.
