I downgraded the WIndows XP from Vista. Everything is fine expect for the audio. I try to find answers at HP forum and other websites. Too many guys have faced up this problem and there are many answers. Although I tried many methods such as that at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Operating-systems-and![]()
Fortunately, I find a new ways to solve this issue. At first, I installed MS-UAA driver(refer to the link above)
and IDT High Definition Audio CODEC at http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloa
, the Winflash will run automatically and turn off the laptop.
After the I turn on the laptop and restart it, the audio works good as before. I'm not sure if it's necessary to install MS-UAA driver because I refreshed the BIOS at last. It may work when you refresh the BIOS and then install the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC drive.
I hope it will work for other model of laptop which runs in XP.
Good luck.![]()

Hi,
Windows XP is not recommend operating system for this particular laptop model, if you install windows XP on this laptop some of the drivers will not work.
Please try to install windows Vista or Windows 7, all the drivers will work.
Click on this link to download the audio drivers for Windows Vista
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.
