Lost Volume Bar on Screen - HP Pavilion Slimline s3680d Desktop PC

I have a Pavilion Slimeline s3680d desktop PC. When I raised or lowered the volume using the keyboard controls a green volume bar came up on screen but now it's gone. The controls still work, as does the speakers - just no visual indicator.

Somebody mentioned disabling the HP MediaSmart Smart Menu in the startup item in the System Configuration in the earlier forum, but I couldn't find it in my startup item. The HP support personnel couldn't offer much help too.

Appreciate if anybody can help,

Thanks a lot!

Try to reinstall the multi media keyboard drivers using Hardware driver reinstallation as given here.
