Missing sound driver...

Please help,

I had to reinstall windows XP on my HP Pavilion a1257c desktop and noticed that I had no sound. I checked the device manager and the following devices have yellow exclamation marks: PCI Device, PCI Simple Communications Controller, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller (VGA Compatible). Does any one know how I can repair these devices? Really appreciate any help..... Thank You!

That only fixed PCI Simple Communications Controller and the Video Controller (VGA Compatible). So thank you! but i still do not have sound and the PCI Device, SM Bus Controller are still not functioning... Any futher help?

Basically, there are 3 main ways/steps to fix a sound driver missing problem.

You could recover it either by:

-performing system restore,

-using your device driver to install a new one,

-or, going directly to your manufacturer's website.
