Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

When I plug in the head to my USB port the computer can't recognize what is put in and installs an unknown device.  It has only worked once and when it did it was great but I'm not sure how to get it to work again.

Re: Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

DSW, welcome to the forum.

This is a strange problem.  The headset is supposed to be plug n play.  Have you tried plugging the headset into the USU 2.0 port and then boot the computer?  It may cause the computer to recognize it.

Please let us know if this solves your problem or not.

Re: Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

No that did not work.

Strangely enough my computer would not even start with the headset plugged in.  I have 2 USB 1.0 port on my keyboard, a USB 2.0 on the computer, 2 in the front 2 in the back and a USB extention cable.  I've tried plugging the headset into all 6 ports and I won't work in either slot.

Re: Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

I have the exact same problem. The headset is not recognized. It worked for a while, but now it is impossible to get it to work. When it is attached to a USB-port, I get the message that automatic driver installation failed. In devices it turns up as unspecified, unknown device, and the device status is that "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

I have a Dell Precision M4500 laptop, running Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit.

In effect, the headset is useless.

Re: Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

Hi all

Same problem on Windows XP. It only installs an unknown USB device.

What to do, it should be pnp? Are there any drivers for download and manually installation?

Best regards

Lars

Re: Premium Digital Headset XA490AA problems

Hey Guys,

I was having the same problem and I fixed it pretty easily. If you are plugging the headset into a USB 2.0 port it won't work. I had the exact same thing happen to me. It worked, then out of nowhere it stopped. So what you have to do is plug it into the back of your computer where there is just a regular USB 1.0 port. This worked for me, hope it does for you guys also.

                                                               Cheers :smileyhappy:
