Hi every one
I have a HP Pavilion a6433w with realtek audio and vista 32
The realtek will not recognize when I plug the speakers in the back speaker out.
If I leave the speaker plugged in the back and pug headphones in the front the speakers will work but the headphones will not.
Please help.

You're referring to the green plug for front speaker output that's in the back of the computer right?
It worked before?
Check playback devices and make sure speakers is selected as defautl. Also test it first.
What headphones do you use and how r they connected to the computer? Is it via the Optical cable or through the regular green, orange, black speaker cables.
If you're using the optical output then go on your pc, login, on the bottom right next to the time there's a white speaker icon. Left click it twice (i think) and check to make sure sounds isn't muted or low.
Then try this.
On the same white speaker icon, rightclick it, go to Playback Devices, and in the window that comes in the middle check to see which device has the green check mark. You can only have 1 as default.
*** A good thing to try if you're not sure is to rightclick on each playback device individually and choose Test. So test each one and one will play the sound and you'll know which ones needs to be set as default.

Yes the green speaker out on the back panel.
It worked fine and then just quit on night.
The realtek hd manager does not recognize when I plug in the speakers on the rear green speaker out so I cannot set it to default.
I use CA headphones I connect them to the front panel green speaker out,and have it setup in the hd manager to turn off rear panel green speaker out
when I plug into the front panel green speaker out, but the rear panel speakers work and the headphones do not.
Checked all mutes and levels everything is ok.
No device has rhe green check mark.
Uninstalled & reinstall drivers, updated drivers,The hd manager still will not recognize when I plug speakers in the rear panel green speaker out.

I think I may have found a solution. This worked for me on my HP Pavilion HPE Series desktop.
On the same white speaker icon, rightclick it, go to Playback Devices, and in the window that pop out, right click any of the ouput devices and select the show disable devices. The speaker should pop up and just enable it. Can't believe I wasted 3 hours for such a simple solution.
