Speakers plugged in, says "audio device not installed"

My speakers are plugged into the correct port, the light for them is on but it says the drivers for this device are not installed, I click reinstall driver and it doesnt work, I bought this thing called Driver Genius and I did what I could, I didnt really understand much but I did what the directions told me, still didnt work! can anyone help me. I have a Compaq Persario and Windows Vista Home Basic. My speakers are Creative.

Hi CyborgHP,
What model number of PC do you have?
Also, try taking a look at this HP Support video and document on fixing sound problems. Chances are one of the steps described will fix the problem.
