Re: Webcam mic

Ehoehl, welcome to the forum.

How are you using the webcam when having microphone problems; Skype, etc.?  This will help us diagnose the problem.

Re: Webcam mic

Yes, when trying to Skype is when the mic isn't working but it does the same thing when I'm not Skyping and just in the settings of the webcam.

Re: Webcam mic

I found this forum because I'm having near identical problems... except that my microphone lasts about only 10 seconds.  When I go into the "Control Panels" and alter the properties of the microphone quality (from options marks "CD quality", "AM quality", "FM quality") the microphone will work again... for 10 seconds.  I am also using a HP webcame HD 3100, and my computer is running on Windows 7.  The microphone has these issues whether I'm signed in to Skype or not.

Re: Webcam mic

Just installed an HD-3100 have the same problem, mic only works for 10 secs. Checked using the arcsoft vid capture and and watched the secs tick by on the replay. Used another mic through the normal mike input and its ok. Got to be an HP problem.
