cann't Find Match Realtek HDaudio inf file ! [ Edited ]

I recently had a sound card but it decided it didn't feel like working. So I thought well a simple switch of the bios back to onboard will fix it... but it didn't. So I preceded to install the drivers thinking that might be the problem. But in the middle on installation it gives me and error that says this spelling errors and all. "Cann't find match realtek hdaudio Inf File !" Now I did run a driver sweeper after I got the sound card so the 2 audio driver wouldn't cause performance errors/slowdowns. But I don't know how installing the drivers wouldn't work if that is in fact the problem. I have a HP Pavilion a1040n. If I'm missing anything required to help me feel free to ask.

I take it you still have XP.

Uninstall any sound software you installed with teh card using its unistall iconr or Add/Remove Programs.

Make sure you have restarted the computer at least twice after you pulled the sound card.

You can reinstall the original Realtek drivers using driver/app recovery/revoery manager from the PC Help and Tools start menu folder ... or...

you can download and install the Realtek HD Audio Codec Package from Realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

It doesn't work. After uninstall any audion driver, if you install the realtek driver, you get the same error message: Cann't Find Match RealTek HDAudio.Inf File!.

Please help.  Thanks.
