dc7100 Windows 7 Audio Driver

Hi,

I have 80 dc7100s in work which we are upgrading to Windows 7. HP does not have a driver for this computer for Windows 7 and were unwilling to help me out. I tried the Vista drivers in compatibility mode but they wouldnt install.

Has anyone else had this problem and been able to resolve it or know where to find a driver which would work?

Have you tried the Windows update website?

Take a look at one of the motherboards to see if you can get a designation for the sound chip to post here.

I must tell you that finding Windows 7 drivers for older HP Compaq business PCs is a difficult undertaking.

Hi:

Launch the Windows update program and an audio driver will be downloaded for you.

See my post here on the Business Support Forums. This was for a 64 bit driver but 32 will be the same.

Your onboad video adapters are not W7 capable. You will need add-on video cards for Aero.

Hi, again:

If you don't want to buy 80 W7 video cards for your dc7100's read through this post and perhaps you can try the driver the poster provided and you can do a manual install of the driver. This worked on the model that preceeded the dc7100, the d530, but what do you have to lose?

You won't get Aero, but you may get better graphics performance if you are not happy with what you are seeing.
