lost all sound in laptop

i have lost all my sound on my hp g60-443cl. even when i turn it on , it doesnt have any sound...I think I have Windows 7 64-bit.

Hi,
If this has just recently happened, the easiest way to solve this may be to run Windows System Restore. If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you will need to disable Nortons Tamper Protection as shown in Step 2, on the link below.

Once you've done this, shut down the notebook. Windows System Restore is usaully best run in Safe Mode. Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter. When this has loaded, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore. Pick a restore point at least 24 hours before the audio issue and then proceed with the restore process. When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.

Sorry Im confused . I am not good with pc..What is f8? What are the first steps??And I do not have Norton Protection..

Hi,
If you do not have Norton installed, just ignore that part. You should find the f8 key on the top row of buttons on your keyboard.

lost all sound in hp pavilion dv6 laptop using windows 7 home premium.i think after update the windows. i checked mute button.and instrolled audio drivers again.task bar icon not display any error message.
