Re: How to create recovery cd using windows 7

Hi,

If you're referring to creating your set of Recovery DVDs that allow you to reinstall the operating system, see the link below.

Also well worth creating is a Windows 7 Repair CD as shown on the following link.

Regards,

Re: How to create recovery cd using windows 7

Hi,

If you've installed Windows 7 using a retail copy, you can create  a Recovery CD as shown on the following link.

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/5409/create-a-system-repair-disc-in-windows-7/

You can then use this to restore a backed up Disk Image to the Hard Drive ( as well as other operations ).

Re: How to create recovery cd using windows 7

Hi,

Review this article on how to use Windows 7 to create backups and a backup image.

I would recommend that you take periodic hard drive images (all partitions) to external storage such as an USB drive.

Re: How to create recovery cd using windows 7

Hi,

The HP Recovery Disks that you should have made on day one will recover your PC back to a factory day one condition.

If you use the Windows 7 recovery method on day one right after you booted up your new PC then that would be extremely close to a factory day one condition.

Yes you can use the Windows 7 image creation process to make a system image.  Review the instructions in the above link.

If you used the Windows image creation process weeks after changing and modifying your PC then the image taken will only reflect the current state of your PC and not a day one situation.
