Recovering Vista

I'd like to restore my personal computer to factory.

At the first configuration of the computer for the first time, Office was to activate with a serial number, which I bought and I'm still using it. If I restore my PC, does the computer remove also software like Word or PowerPoint or have I only to re-insert the activation code?

Re: Recovering Vista

It could go either way... I would guess that if Office was already installed from the factory and you purchased a product key after the fact, all you should have to do is recovery (or in your words "restore") the computer then re-enter the Office product key (activation code). If it doesn't end up going that way, it is still possible to get the Office software, install it, and activate it.

If you haven't already made your HP Recovery disc, please do so now. Look at the folders on recovery disc 1 for a folde called "HP". In this folder you should find more folders, in named "Apps" and another named "Drvr". It is within these folders may be able to locate the Office install routine.

Please provide the model number and/or product number of your HP computer for more specific help with your issue.

I will do the HP Recovery disk as soon as possible, probably tomorrow.

If it could help you, my computer is a HP dv6822el one (so the general model is HP Pavilion dv6700) with Windows Vista Home Premium (32 bit). The product number is FG783EA#ABZ.
