Recovery files MS-200

had the dreaded BSOD so had to re-install Windows.

HP MS-200 all in one, running windows 7, there was no restore point so I had to use the built in recovery system from HP to back up files.

Felt confident as it took ages fro files to save to an external hard drive, re-installed windows using recovery discs made on  set up of computer originally.

Found all music, tho not restored it yet, all photos restored, desktop items all found.

However I cannot find my Outlook information, so have lost all my stored email in and out boxes. Also all my contacts. I have 106 files of recovery stuff, should it be there, and where should I be looking? Is it possible to search the files as have done outlook, email, and names of contacts, but no success.

Hi, DC:

Do a search on your disks for . pst files. That is the file the extension Outlook uses.

Search *.pst

files are not saved on a disc, that is the ones created when computer was new.  Really think it is all lost, something to do with users files, but have looked at as many as I can find,

so far no good, tried to searcvh for pst files on the saved files but no luck,.

try doing these steps:

make sure outlook is already installed and configured

recovery files are restored

click file on outlook and look for import / export

select import to a file

browse where the recovered files are and outlook will automatically detect any .pst files. hope this will help..

Ok same problem as before, but this time I need to find calender entries, as my income for a year was listed on the computer instead of on paper, is there any way to recover the older calender entries like I was able to recover the sent and received emails.
