system restore

I have a hpe-150 uk desktop that recently needed a new harddrive now when i try use the system restore discs the installation process fails at the end with a error message saying that the new hardware is not compatible but its a blank drive what can i do

Hello graham1a1, Many times when a new hard drive is installed, the Recovery Restore disk will see this as another system , and will not install, since it is programmed to install only on the original system hard drive. This is a very common issue.
Some have gotton around this by partitioning and formatting the new hard drive and then try the HP Recovery Restore disk.
Here is a link to some free partitioning software that can be used to partition and format your new hard drive.
You would need to burn this software to a CD\DVD disk and then boot to the disk.
